落語の小話にこんなのがある。

「お前の吊ってくれた棚だけどな。あれ、落ちたぞ」
「落ちた？　そんなはずはねえんだが」
「いや、落ちたよ。ゆんべ。ストーンと」
「ストーンって……お前、何か乗せやしなかったか？」

　つまり、アレだ。

　「二次創作禁止のキャラクター」や、「複製と編集が禁じられている映像」や、「教科書に載せることができない詩」や、「図書館に置くと著者が怒る書籍」 や、「ネット上で閲覧させると作家先生の団体が訴訟を起こす芸術作品」は、どれもこれも、「なにかモノを乗せると落ちる棚」なのだ。
　
　つまり、「編集しない約束で録画できる動画」や「転載、引用をしない範囲内で暗誦するべき詩」や「人前で演奏しないという前提で販売されている楽譜」 は、「モノを乗せない条件下でのみ機能する棚」と同じで、インテリアであって実用物ではない。そういうことだ。
